Automated Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Implantation Hair Transplant System
The Hair Loss Treatment Center has integrated the NeoGraft Automated Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Implantation Hair Transplant System because it is a new cutting-each technological breakthrough and the only Class One FDA Listed automated medical device for hair restoration to give you the best results available.
It is an out-patient, surgical procedure that moves individual hair follicles from a part of your body, known as the ‘donor site’, and implants it on a balding part of your body, which is the ‘recipient site’. We usually take hair follicles from what is known as the “wreath” area of your head – the sides and back, where hair always grows – no matter how much hair you’ve lost from the top of your head. We can also retrieve hair from other areas of the body if the head is not the best location.
Other parts of the face such as sparse eyebrows or patchy beards can benefit from the FUE transplants as well. The human body will accept hair from anywhere, as long as it is from the patient’s own body. We can do the same technique to restore eyebrows or to remedy patchy facial hair growth on men, it’s just a matter of transferring the hair to wherever it is needed.”
You are given local anesthesia in the hair removal or “harvesting” area in the back. In addition to local anesthesia we now offer the PRO-NOX™ option which is patient-controlled inhaled analgesia for in-office use and takes effect in seconds, offering immediate relief of pain and anxiety. During “harvesting” you will be required to lie face down for 2-4 hours. Then the individual follicular groupings are extracted with the NeoGraft device which suctions the follicles into a holding chamber. After removing the required number, each follicle is separated by hand giving the patient time for food and a break. During the replacement of the hair, the patient sits up while the recipient site is anesthetized and the individual follicular groupings are injected into the frontal scalp or wherever your hair is thinning via the NeoGraft tool. This portion of the procedure requires Dr. Hochman’s expertise to place the follicles in the proper direction for the most natural hairline.
This procedure is performed under a local anesthetic and is minimally invasive. This state-of-the-art technique achieves a natural appearance, one that looks almost identical to how your hair used to look. Hair transplantation is the only known solution to permanently restore hair.
Following NeoGraft FUE Extraction: What to Expect?
“Most people do not have any significant discomfort after the procedure. Some itching and swelling can occur but is generally mild. With NeoGraft extraction you can resume normal activities in just a few days, unlike the strip excision method which could take weeks. Crusting and scabbing of the transplanted areas last about a week.
The transplanted hair falls out in about two weeks and generally begins to grow again in about three months. Once it has grown in, the next session, if needed, can be performed. The number of sessions required to fill in a given area depends on the extent of the hair loss and the density which is desired. For most people, this means between one and three sessions.
Transplanted hair lives and grows indefinitely. Once the transplant procedures are complete, no further treatments are necessary. The hair can be styled any way the person desires. Although hair transplantation is a substantial investment, the results are considered permanent and may be less expensive than other hair loss treatments when factored over a lifetime. The improvement in self-image and confidence is well worth the cost for most people.”

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
There are many benefits derived from using non-surgical PRP treatments to promote healing for hair growth by generating new hair growth, thickening thinned out hair, and making hair transplants grow thicker and healthier. Hair follicles survive on the nutrition they get from their blood supply. If we introduce your own platelets (PRP) from a blood draw in the area of damaged hair follicles, it nourishes them and amplifies the body’s naturally occurring wound healing mechanism. It also protects the follicle cells from DHT-the harmful form of testosterone which causes male pattern baldness in most men. We saturate the hair follicles in PRP before transplantation to make them stronger and less vulnerable to DHT. Platelet-Rich Plasma PRP injections into the scalp of men or women can improve the hair follicle and root strength as well. Our NEOLts Light Therapy is also an excellent addition to the plasma introduction which helps speed up the process of regrowth and making your hair healthier and the follicles stronger and viable.
